Smartsheet held its annual "ENGAGE" conference at the beginning of October at the Washington State Convention Center. Smartsheet (NYSE: SMAR) is a cloud based service which functions as a "blank canvass" for creating organization of and structure to your information. Union Street is built on this platform and leverages its capabilities for many aspects of the business including sales, receivables, database, CRM, notice automation, financial analysis, process timelines, property profiles, and more.
Seattle is fortunate to have innovative companies all around which provide opportunities for local businesses to be on the forefront of technology and to network with the brains that are behind it. I took this opportunity to attend the 4 day conference for a second year in a row, but took a different approach than last year.
In 2018 the focus was on the seminars and instruction. Learning the product and its newest capabilities. But for 2019, it was about the network of people around me. Engaging in conversations with Smartsheet employees and their costumers gave me more dynamic insights on how to leverage Smartsheet. The employees and culture of Smartsheet seems oddly positive, energetic, and sincere. They are as excited about their product as their customer base that relies on it.
4,000 people representing 39 countries were in attendance this year; and yet Smartsheet is still in its infancy. I encourage everyone to check it out and to think about how you can use it to make your life easier and more organized.
