Since its founding in 2015, Union Street Corporate Real Estate has leveraged Smartsheet (NYSE: SMAR) as the backbone cloud service of the company. As a project management software, its flexibility in its applications allows it to be used as a platform for creating client dashboards, conducting reports, producing forms to gather data, collaboration, document sharing, creating common Workspaces, and a whole multitude of other uses.
Last week (October 1 -4) Smartsheet held its second annual ENGAGE world conference at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, WA. It was a sold out event with 2,000 people in attendance.
As an attendee of the conference, I explored new ways to leverage Smartsheet's capabilities; especially in the areas of automation and collaboration. Mingling with both experts from the Smartsheet team and attendees across various industries from all over the world reveled many new insights. Smartsheet also unleashed some new features and functionalities during the conference, which will empower Union Street to better serve its clients, especially in the area of contacts and alerts.
Over the next few months, we will be upgrading our internal database, CRM, invoicing, notice automation, client lease abstract and document sharing through the Smartsheet platform. Smartsheet's integration into Office365 makes the centralizing of documents and email strings very slick when attaching to sheet records.
It also can weave itself into Slack, Salesforce, and other major cloud service providers.
But this conference wasn't just all about learning and nerding out. The conference reception was a Bavarian themed event held after the conclusion of the first day's speakers and sessions. Since I wasn't going to be able to attend the following night's event at MoPop, I thought that I should participate in the Bavarian beer-stein-holding contest. 50 participants held a 5 lb stein (full of jelly-beans) at an arms length (straight out and don't bend the elbow!) for as long as they could. I struggled to make it into the top 10 finishers, but was happy to be able to keep the stein as my participation award!
